An Ancient Curse Unleashed

Legends, folklore, and ghost stories surround West Virginia, causing it to be known as one of the most haunted places on Earth. A story is told of an ancient curse placed on this vast wilderness thousands of years ago. For centuries, there have been sightings of sinister spirits wandering the forest, luring unsuspecting victims who are never seen again. Glimpses of monsters swimming in the rivers and flying through the skies have captured the imagination of many cryptid hunters and paranormal investigators that have searched the mountains looking for the strange encounters. The curse is unleashed this fall at ACE Adventure Resort’s Nightmare in the Gorge. 

An Ancient Curse 

Thousands of years ago, native tribes battled over the area presently known as West Virginia. An ancient leader devised a plan to keep enemy tribes away from his mountainous land. His plan involved summoning a malevolent spirit to protect this territory and scare away any would-be invaders. This wicked spirit known as the Witch of the Woods had her own plans and cursed this tribe inflicting them with a deadly plague. For centuries, this evil witch has spread her magic across the Mountain State leaving many souls lost wandering the wilderness forever. 

Sinister Spirits Summon Evil Demons

The Witch of the Woods is sometimes seen deep in the forest conducting séances and sacrificing her victims. These sacrifices give her immortal strength and trap these souls inside her world where she can control their every move. Victims are cast under her demonic spells where a toxic series of visions and emotions are encountered. Once someone has entered this dreamlike state it is almost impossible to escape. 

 

Cryptid Monsters Roam the Wilderness

Séances and demonic curses have given birth to some shocking and grotesque creatures that are often seen in the wilderness. Mermaids have been spotted swimming in wild rivers and deep gorges throughout Appalachia. Unfortunate spectators usually don’t live long enough to share their tales of such creatures. The famous Mothman can be seen flying over areas preceding tragic events such as the Silver Bridge collapse. Bat like creatures with vampire tendencies have been found in the darkness of West Virginia’s caves. Once these frightening creatures are conjured up, they are left to roam the woods and hide in the shadows for all eternity. 

The Warehouse of Terror

Adventurous spirits often seek to explore the spiritual realm and sometimes they open a doorway that cannot be closed. One such portal has been opened in the New River Gorge. This area is a hotspot for paranormal activity and a group of paranormal investigators have summoned demonic spirits and the Witch of the Woods. The ancient curse has been unleashed, breathing life into the collection of lost souls who are locked inside the Warehouse of Terror at ACE Adventure Resort.
