New River Gorge Rafting Riverside Overnight Package
Two-Day New River Gorge Whitewater Rafting Overnight
Is there a better way to explore the New River Gorge National Park than through it? We don’t think so. People have been running commercial rafting trips here since 1968, and before that, well, the river has been a part of our heritage and history since time out of mind. There’s not anyone who was born here or moved here who hasn’t splashed or fished in those waters. These mountains and that gorge are baked into all of us and we enjoy sharing that rugged awe-inspiring beauty with you. There is no better way to do that than heading downstream on a raft, camping on its river banks, and soaking in that vibe that makes the New River Gorge National Park & Preserve so special.
Are you ready for the ultimate NRG adventure?
Spend your first day immersing yourself in the openness of the river with long calm pools of water and a bit of splashy goodness. Enjoy the calmness and beauty of a river who’s just getting started. This is where you are going to see the most wildlife. Perhaps you will see otters playing in the river, or bears foraging on its banks, a bald eagle flying overhead.
Then camp along the banks, at our private campsite, Erskine Flats. Complete with tents set up on platforms and a primitive bath and shower house, so you can relax while we cook you dinner, and play along the banks as we did as kids. Wake up and enjoy that cool mountain air while we cook your breakfast.
Hop on your raft, and get ready for excitement because soon you’ll be hitting Class III-V rapids as you head downstream to the take out. This is going to be faster paced with bigger water, and the serenity of yesterday is going to turn into a day of excitement and fun as you hit those big holes or maneuver your boat around obstacles. (aka big rocks) And, of course, your New River Gorge experience will not be complete until we land at the takeout under the New River Gorge Bridge.
This trip is perfect for guests wanting the complete New River Gorge rafting experience, combining two unique stretches of river and one unforgettable overnight adventure that will leave you feeling inspired.
