River Overnight

Experience the Gauley River from beginning to end by rafting 23 miles in 2 days – without ever leaving the canyon.

Day 1: raft the Upper Gauley tackling continuous, pounding whitewater.  Unwind by the fire and share stories of the day’s adventure that evening.

Day 2: raft the monster roller-coaster waves of the Lower section.

Packing List for an Overnight

• Sleeping bag & pillow
• Anything you may want at camp that night (i.e. additional beverages)
• Personal toiletries and prescription medications
• Flashlight or headlamp
• Shoes that will stay on your feet – NO flip flops or crocs
• Synthetic or wool base layers for under a wetsuit
• Towel and change of clothes for after the trip
• Sunscreen and bug spray
• Books, games, cards

ACE Provides:

• We provide you with a dry bag for all of your gear at the overnight site that you would like to keep dry.
• Tent and thin sleeping pad
• All rafting equipment
• Meals – lunch each day, dinner on day one and breakfast on day 2
• Beverages, soda, lemonade, water, hot chocolate, and a limited supply of beer
• Awesome guides
• Transportation to and from the river

TRIP TIPS

• Waivers are required for all participants.
• Let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions prior to your arrival at ACE
• Water shoes, sunglasses, sunglass straps, and more last minute essentials can be purchased in the outfitter’s store.
• Wetsuits are available to rent prior to your trip.
• Be sure to leave the jewelry, watches, and any other valuables behind. Your trip leader will secure your car keys in a safe place. Items are easily lost on the river!

TRIP PHOTOS AND VIDEO

• Whitewater Photography will take photos along the way for purchase after the trip in the Outfitter store at ACE
• Most Upper & Lower Gauley trips have a video boater, but it does depend on size of trip and overall busyness of trips that day. In order to guarantee your trip is videoed, you must pre-pay for your trip video.
