Experience the best family-friendly multiday trip around! Kiddos as young as six can paddle the Upper New River for two days, enjoying all the sun and fun they can, and camping riverside, too!
Choose your watercraft (raft or single or double duckie) and paddle the fun and splashy rapids of the Upper New River. You’ll take a break for lunch, prepared for you riverside by your guides, before heading back onto the water. The pools of flat water on the Upper New River will give your group lots of time to swim and play in the water. You’ll stop to camp, and enjoy an incredible dinner spread, campfire, and s’mores.
Day two will begin with breakfast (don’t worry, there’s coffee!), then you’ll hit the water again for more games, rafting, swimming, and jump rocking! This family trip is one to remember.

Packing List for an Overnight
Sleeping bag & pillow (ACE does rent slumber kits that include sleeping bag and pillow)

ACE Provides:
We provide you with a dry bag for all of your gear at the overnight site that you would like to keep dry.

TRIP TIPS
March-May is considered Spring rafting on the New River. The waves will be huge and the current will be fast.
June & July brings lower water levels and is best for surfing and swimming.
Unusually high water levels may cause trips to be shifted to a different section of the river for safety.
Waivers are required for all participants.
Let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions prior to your arrival at ACE
Water shoes, sunglasses, sunglass straps, and more last-minute essentials can be purchased in the outfitter’s store.
Wetsuits are available to rent prior to your trip.
Be sure to leave the jewelry, watches, and any other valuables behind. Your trip leader will secure your car keys in a safe place. Items are easily lost on the river!
TRIP PHOTOS AND VIDEO
Waterproof cameras/GoPros are allowed on ACE rafting trips.
An ACE photographer will take photos along the way for purchase after the trip in the Outfitter store at ACE Adventure Resort or here on our online store…
All Lower New River Gorge rafting trips will have a trip video, Upper New River Gorge trips will have a photographer only.
Please bring all items to your trip check-in. ACE’s New River Gorge riverside overnight campground has flushing toilets and showers but no electricity. Please lock all of your valuables up in your vehicle. This includes all jewelry, wallets, money, or anything you would not want to get wet or lost. You will need to arrive for check-in one hour before your departure time listed on your confirmation.
