Trip Description:

Enjoy rock climbing at ACE’s private resort climbing areas. This trip is perfect for beginners who have climbed indoors or a bit outside. Our Upper New River Gorge rockclimbing and rappelling full day trip will expand your climbing knowledge and provide a chance to learn more about climbing technique, rope work, and the climbing styles of the New River Gorge area. Climbers will typically climb 2-4 hours on different routes and get a chance to experience several rappels descents of 2 different rappelling lines.  A deli style lunch divides up the climb and rappel.

• Enjoy ACE’s private Resort climbing areas.
• Rappel (descend a rope under your own control) 2 different lines several times.
• Experience 2-4 hours of climbing on various climbing routes.
• Expand your knowledge of climbing techniques with our trained and experienced guides.

What To Wear:

• Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
• Longer shorts or pants to be comfortable with a harness around your waist and thighs.
• Layers are always good and help you adjust to changing weather conditions in comfort.
• Hair should be pulled back

What To Bring:

• Water bottle & snack.
• Sunscreen and insect repellent.
• Personal prescription medication if needed.
• A small camera you can clip to your harness (Trust us, the views are great!)
• Raingear, just in case.

• Harnesses, helmets and all needed safety equipment.
• Friendly and professional climbing guides.
• Shuttle from the Adventure Operations building to the trips climbing and rappelling location.
• A deli style lunch. (Let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions prior to your arrival at ACE)
