Description
Slap that big ol’ Pillow Rock two times. Make that same Gauley Face at Sweets Falls in the morning and afternoon. When you just can’t get enough extreme whitewater, the Double Upper Gauley trip has twice the adrenaline rush you crave. Starting at o’dark thirty, we conquer the waves and surf the holes with enough time to head back up river and do it all over again.
If you’re an adrenaline junkie is the trip for you. Get to experience Insignificant, Pillow Rock, Lost Paddle, Iron Ring, and Sweets Falls twice in one day! That’s right, one day, two Upper Gauley runs, upwards of 82 rapids. Previous rafting experience is recommended for this trip.

What’s the best part about rafting the Upper Gauley? You can do it again! In the same day! With ACE’s Double Upper Gauley, you’ll do all 5 class V rapids of the Upper Gauley, eat lunch, then do it again! This trip is physically demanding and is only recommended for experienced rafters.

This is one of the most challenging whitewater rafting trips we offer our guests. Please make sure you’re ready for a physical challenge… the reward will be huge!

Let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions prior to your arrival at ACE
Be sure to leave the jewelry, watches, and any other valuables behind. Your trip leader will secure your car keys in a safe place. Items are easily lost on the river!
FALL GAULEY SEASON
Fall Gauley Season is legendary and limited. Dam controlled, these releases start each September and conclude before October ends. These releases are at a guaranteed level that provides guests with the best rafting trip available all year. This run is, in fact, world-class AND world-famous!
The Upper Gauley River is the most challenging run, suitable for experienced rafters only. Guests will face 5 class V+ rapids… the most challenging level of rapids that can be run commercially by law. But, this section of the river is not just adrenaline. It’s also an awe-inspiring journey into the wilderness of West Virginia. Get ready for a challenge, fun, and an incredible adventure!

An ACE photographer will take photos along the way for purchase after the trip in the Outfitter store at ACE Adventure Resort or here on our online store…
All Lower New River Gorge rafting trips will have a trip video, Upper New River Gorge trips will have a photographer only.
