If you’re short on time, our half-day Lower New River Gorge rafting trip covers the same area as the full-day journey but with fewer stops and no lunch included, allowing you to finish the trip in less time. This is the perfect option for those looking to enjoy more than one activity in a day. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in any of our half-day trips along with this one!

The ancient New River cuts and winds its way through the mountains, forming 6.5 miles of some of the best whitewater on the East Coast. The New River Gorge National Park is one of the reasons people want to visit West Virginia, and rafting it offers a whole new outlook on the scenery that makes it spectacular. A half day rafting trip on the New River will save you time, so that you have more time to sightsee, shop in the nearby town of Fayetteville, or participate in another activity at ACE.

New River Gorge Bridge: ​Perhaps the most famous landmark in West Virginia, the New River Gorge Bridge towers 876 feet about where you’ll be sitting in your raft, gazing up in awe at its beauty. The half-day Lower New River trip ends just underneath this iconic structure.
TRIP TIPS
March-May is considered Spring rafting on the New River. The waves will be huge and the current will be fast. This is the most exciting half day Lower New River Gorge trip we offer!
Unusually high water levels may cause trips to be shifted to a different section of the river for safety. You’ll still have an amazing half day white water rafting trip!
Waivers are required for all participants.
Let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions prior to your arrival at ACE.
Be sure to leave the jewelry, watches, and any other valuables behind. Your trip leader will secure your car keys in a safe place. Items are easily lost on the river!
