Whitewater Rafting

For those interested in a popular rafting option, the Lower New River is an excellent choice, suitable for both beginners and experienced rafters. Alternatively, individuals seeking a more leisurely experience may prefer the Upper New River.

If you’re planning a visit in the fall, the Gauley River is known for its stunning scenery and exciting rapids. While the Upper Gauley River is best reserved for those with significant rafting experience, the Lower Gauley River offers a comparable experience to the Lower New River, making it accessible for a wider range of rafters.

Group Adventures

You can reserve a custom trip for one day or multiple days using the special rates available for non-profit groups. ACE offers various activities designed to physically and personally challenge participants, including rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, aerial park experiences, and zip lining. Activities such as the Mud Obstacle, Aerial Park, paintball, and Team Challenge are excellent for identifying leaders and supporters within your group while enhancing your team’s ability to work toward a common goal. If you prefer a more reflective experience, consider guided hikes, stand-up paddleboarding, or lake kayaking.

Waterpark

At the ACE Adventure Resort, visitors can enjoy an expansive waterpark on a 5-acre lake. The waterpark offers a variety of activities suitable for all ages and opportunities to relax on the beach.

The lake features inflatable obstacles that provide an engaging environment for climbing, sliding, and bouncing in the water. Guests can race their friends on tandem slides and tandem ziplines, adding an element of competition and excitement. The “blobbing” experience also allows participants to launch each other into the air.

If you’re part of a group, we can arrange a customized lunch with various options. Return to The Lost Paddle Bar and Grill in the evening to savor classic American favorites for dinner.

Free Activities

At ACE, visitors can enjoy numerous complimentary activities. To begin your adventure, visit the Welcome Center for a resort map. The area features an extensive network of trails, including the Concho Overlook Trail, which offers stunning views of the historic town of Thurmond in the New River Gorge.

For those who prefer biking, ACE provides private trails suitable for cyclists of all skill levels—beginner, moderate, and advanced. Guests can bring their own equipment or rent a mountain bike on-site.

Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy access to several exclusive resort fishing ponds. Additionally, the location is ideal for birdwatching, as it hosts a variety of bird species. Lastly, ACE boasts a unique Disc Golf course that spans over 6,000 feet, featuring challenging and open flight paths for players.
