West Virginia Rec Sports teams and teams traveling to and through West Virginia for tournaments and competitions include a day at the waterpark or rafting the New River as a stop along the way.    ACE Adventure Resort provides team-building opportunities, training opportunities, and Fun Day activities.

Whether you are looking for a half-day, one-day-only, or overnight stay, ACE’s Group Sales reservationist will assist you with your group’s nonprofit pricing and provide the information needed to build a stop in the New River Gorge National Park into your itinerary.

Group Lodging

At ACE Adventure Resort, where you can choose from a variety of accommodation options to suit all groups. Whether you prefer rustic camping, budget-friendly lodging, or deluxe accommodations, we have something for everyone.

Our campground and budget lodging options help groups reduce lodging costs, allowing them to invest in engaging outdoor activities that foster relationship-building, boost confidence, and enhance teamwork within the group.

Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater rafting is the ultimate team experience and a must-do during your visit to Southern West Virginia. The physical and personal achievements gained from navigating the rapids in the New River Gorge create lasting memories that endure well beyond the challenges of the day.

The Lower New River is our most popular trip, as it caters to both beginners and seasoned rafters. If you’re seeking a more relaxing experience, the Upper New River is a perfect choice.

If you plan to visit in the fall, the Gauley River offers stunning views and exciting rapids. While the Upper Gauley River is recommended only for experienced rafters, the Lower Gauley River is comparable to the Lower New River in terms of adventure.

ACE Adventure Waterpark or “hiking on your own” on the 35 miles of trails at the resort provides alternative options for group members who cannot join your rafting trip.

Group Adventures

You can reserve a one-day or multi-day custom trip with non-profit group rates. ACE offers a variety of activities including rafting, rock climbing, aerial park challenges, mountain biking, and zip lining, all designed to provide both physical and personal challenges. Additionally, activities such as the mud obstacle course, aerial park experiences, paintball, and team challenges are effective for identifying leaders and encouragers within your group, while also enhancing collaboration towards shared goals.

If you’re interested in a more reflective experience, options like guided hikes, stand up paddleboarding, or lake kayaking are available to consider.

Waterpark

At the heart of ACE Adventure Resort is an incredible waterpark that promises fun for all ages. This 5-acre lake offers a variety of activities, with plenty of space to relax on the beach as well.

The lake features inflatable obstacles where you can climb, slide, and bounce around in the water. Race your friends on the tandem slides and zip lines that lead into the lake. Take turns “blobbing” each other to see who can soar the highest before splashing into the water. With so much to do, this is the perfect place for a full-day or half-day adventure.

Leave the cooking to us so you can focus your energy on what you came here to do, have a blast! Stop by The Lost Paddle for our classic breakfast buffet, or grab breakfast sandwiches if you’re rushing off to your next activity. Stop by Woodys for our award winning woodfired pizza, wings, wraps, nachos, sandwiches, and more for lunch. We can also prepare lunch just for your group with many options available. Head back to The Lost Paddle Bar and Grill for dinner and more of those classic American favorites!

Free Activities

There’s so much to enjoy at ACE for FREE! Just stop by the Welcome Center to pick up a map and get started. You’ll discover dozens of trails that cover miles of terrain around ACE, including the Concho Overlook Trail, which offers stunning views of the historic town of Thurmond in the New River Gorge.

If you prefer biking, we have private trails suitable for beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders. Feel free to bring your own gear, or you can rent a mountain bike from us.

Bring your fishing equipment and try your luck in one of our private resort fishing ponds. If you’re interested in birdwatching, ACE is a prime location for observing a wide variety of bird species. Additionally, we feature a unique Disc Golf course that spans over 6,000 feet, offering both challenging and open flight paths.
