Here’s great news, Kids Raft Free on the Upper New River Gorge with ACE! *One kiddo from age 6 to 11 years can raft the Upper New River Gorge FREE with each full paying adult! (This offer excludes all Saturdays and some holidays.) Here’s how to book them online:
Choose a trip date and select how many adults and youth ages 12 and up will be rafting with you. Add the trip to your cart.
Then a page will display with an “add on” option for your free rafters age 6-11. Click the green “Book” button.
On the “Kids Raft Free” booking page add one child for every full-price adult you are booking.

For the littlest river runners in the family, the Upper New River water rafting provides nonstop fun for kiddos as young as 6! This river trip takes place on a calm stretch of river, where fun and splashy rapids abound. And, if you have bigger kids on your trip (10 and older), they can paddle in their own inflatable kayak (duckie), while younger kids can opt to raft or ride in a double duckie with an adult or older group member. After working up an appetite, you’ll take a break for a riverside lunch, prepared for you by your guides. Kids (and grown ups, too!) will get to play games in the river, swim, and jump off jump rock. This Upper New River rafting trip is sure to be an unforgettable adventure for your group or family!

TRIP TIPS
Unusually high water levels may require all paddlers to be in rafts for safety.
Available watercraft include solo duckies, two-person duckies and 16’ rafts.
Solo ducky paddlers must be at least 10 years old.
Parents can take children as young as 6 years old in a two-person ducky.
March-May is best for high water – June & July is best for surfing
Waivers are required for all participants.

Be sure to leave the jewelry, watches, and any other valuables behind. Your trip leader will secure your car keys in a safe place. Items are easily lost on the river!
RAFTS OR DUCKIES?
ACE’s rafts are 16-foot, custom-built, high-tech and self-bailing (meaning that water automatically runs out). The air-filled tubes that make up the raft function as large and comfortable seats, providing a very stable platform to relax and enjoy the breath-taking views offered by our Kids Raft Free Upper New River rafting trips. Crews paddle together with a guide to maneuver through the rapids and there is very little chance of falling out… unless you choose to.
ACE duckies come in the one or two-person variety. A cross between a canoe and kayak, these inflatable boats are stable, lightweight, highly maneuverable and easy to paddle. They are super fun and are the most popular craft on our Upper New River rafting trips. The freedom of choosing your own path, deciding to take the smooth route or jumping into the main part of a rapid is up to you. Duckies make even the smallest rapid a thrilling and exciting adventure. But don’t worry, there will be a guide out there with you to help show the way.
So you can either go it alone in a solo duckie or have a friend ride along with you in a tandem duckie. You must be at least 10 years old to paddle your own ducky. Parents can take children as young as 6 in a tandem ducky!
You can let us know ahead of time if you know which craft you’d prefer or you can think on it and let your trip leader know the day of the trip.
Note: certain high water level may not permit the use of duckies and everyone will be in a raft; for some of the younger kiddos, a full day of paddling can get tiring.
TRIP PHOTOS AND VIDEO
Waterproof cameras/GoPros are allowed on ACE Upper New River rafting trips.
Whitewater Photography will take photos along the way for purchase after the trip in the Outfitter store at ACE.
Most trips have a trip video, but it is not guaranteed your trip will be shot unless you pre-pay.
