WILD is a non-profit organization located in Southern West Virginia dedicated to the progression of outdoor technical skills. Becoming an outdoor professional or first responder in such an area requires the need for education and learning to safely navigate an outdoor space. Utilizing the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve and Gauley National Recreation areas as a venue for training and education creates a perfect environment to teach the courses and certifications for hands-on learning in world class outdoor settings.

Our team of instructors have real life experience in the outdoor Industry including technical rescues, medical emergencies, and all have experience teaching in their respective skill sets. Courses and certifications are backed by nationally accredited organizations.

It is our mission to educate and empower individuals who desire to advance themselves and serve their communities professionally in the Adventure Travel and Outdoor Recreation Industries.

Wilderness First Aid (WFA)

The WFA is the perfect course for the outdoor enthusiast or trip leader who wants a basic level of first aid training for short trips with family, friends, and outdoor groups. It also meets the ACA guidelines.

The WFR is the perfect course for anyone working in a position of leadership in an outdoor setting or for individuals who want a high level of wilderness medical training for extended personal backcountry trips or expeditions.
