Alex was an engineer before discovering his love for the outdoors, but since he started guiding in 2012 he hasn’t looked back. He started out working rivers in North Carolina and Tennessee before making his way to the New and Gauley.

Alex is one of our Trip Leaders and is also a trainer in our guide training program. He also enjoys hiking, enough so that he completed a thru-hike of the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail.
