Back Country Fun in Our Back Yard

Snowshoe Mountain holds a special place in our hearts, as many of our ACE family go there to work and play for the ski season once whitewater season ends. High up in the Allegheny Mountains and surrounded by the Monongahela National Forest, this 11,000 acre full-scale resort entertains guests all year with a golf course, spa, backcountry snowmobile and RZR tours, an escape room, mountain biking, tubing, and of course, skiing.

If you’re new to snow sports, do yourself a favor and take a lesson from a qualified and always charismatic ski or snowboard instructor. Ski and snowboard camps for youth, men, and women offer a comprehensive on-snow experience to kick start your learning, or take your skills to the next level. The annual Burton Women’s Snowboard Camp features yoga and a campaign meet-and-greet, in addition to expert guest instruction from top names in the world of professional snowboarding.

Bike the Mountain

If you’ve been mountain biking at ACE, try visiting Snowshoe Bike Park in the spring and summer for downhill riding, ranging from beginner-friendly to aggressively expert, complete with big drops, gaps, berms, and technical rock gardens. Skip the climb back up the mountain, and hitch a ride on the ski lift with your bike. Full suspension bike and gear rental, mechanic services, group and private lessons are also available.

The mountain is home to several of the best East Coast race and exhibition events, including the GNCC motocross race, Berming Man Banked Slalom, and 24 Hours of Snowshoe. If you prefer a game of precision, the Raven Golf Club hosts the annual Snowshoe Foundation Golf Tournament.

Maybe carving down black diamond trails and sending it over bike jumps isn’t for you. No problem, Snowshoe has your relaxation getaway covered with a full-service spa, and lodging with indoor pools and hot tubs. Dining options all across the mountain range from pizza and burgers, to steak and sushi.

Snowshoe Mountain is Calling

Snowshoe Mountain can be reached in just a couple hours’ drive from ACE, passing by the Cranberry Wilderness, and some of the best scenery West Virginia has to offer in Pocahontas County. While you’re there, keep an eye out for your favorite ACE guides, who might just be patrolling the mountain, or catching some frozen whitewater at 4,848 feet above sea level.
