ACE Adventure Resort serves faith-based communities across denominations by providing a location, staffing, and infrastructure for Experiential Outdoor Ministry, which provides opportunities for shared experiences, a safe and secure environment, challenging activities, and inspiring experiences.

The Event Area on the mountain provides a gathering space and stage area for single-day and multi-day Retreats. Deer Hollow, the location of ACE’s bunkhouses, can be a private space to lodge, play, and have morning and evening worship and meals.

Group Lodging

Stay close to the action when you lodge at ACE Adventure Resort. We have great options for all groups, ranging from rustic camping or budget group lodging to deluxe lodging.

ACE’s budget-friendly Cedar Cabins on top of the mountain provide a comfortable location for women’s, men’s, young adult, and couples retreats. Adding a canopy tent as a place to gather for meals and teaching opportunities provides an all-in-one location to grow together as a community.

ACE Adventure Resort continues to provide opportunities for retreats and weekend getaways during the off-season.  Discounted Winter Lodging Rates are available from November 1st through April 30th.  Making it possible to gather in ACE’s Deluxe Lodging at a budget-friendly rate.

Whitewater Rafting

We LOVE whitewater rafting and have been in the industry for over 40 years. Safety is a priority here, so we pride ourselves on having the best guides in the region. Big Water Spring Rafting begins on April 1st. The New River’s big water and big drops are waiting to challenge your young adults.

The Lower New River is our most popular trip because this section is excellent for both beginners and seasoned rafters. If you’re looking for a more relaxing trip, the Upper New River is perfect.

If you visit during the fall, the Gauley River offers incredible views and rapids. The Upper Gauley River is only recommended for experienced rafters, but the Lower Gauley River is comparable to the Lower New River.

Group Adventures

Reserve a custom trip for one or multiple days with ACE’s non-profit group rates. Enjoy activities like Rafting, Rock Climbing, Zip Lining, and Paintball to strengthen your group’s teamwork. For a more reflective experience, try Guided Hikes, Lake Kayaking, and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. ACE’s land adventures are available year-round.

Exploring the woods of the New River Gorge during the Fall, Winter, and Spring is entirely different than Summer hikes in the woodlands of West Virginia. The New River Gorge trails on the property greatly complement your daily activities. ACE provides non-profit group rates for your activities, rustic lodging, and meals.

Waterpark

You will find the coolest waterpark you’ve ever seen at the heart of ACE Adventure Resort. This 5-acre lake is fun for all ages, and there is plenty of opportunity to relax on the beach.

The lake is filled with inflatable obstacles so that you can climb, slide, and bounce around the water. Race your friends on the tandem slides and tandem ziplines into the water. Blob each other to see who can fly the highest into the water. The waterpark is a perfect full-day or half-day activity.

Dining Options

Leave the cooking to us so you can focus on having a fantastic time! Start your day with our delicious classic breakfast buffet at The Lost Paddle, or grab a quick breakfast sandwich if you’re on the go. For lunch, swing by Woody’s to enjoy our award-winning wood-fired pizza, wings, wraps, nachos, and sandwiches—there’s something for everyone! We can whip up a special lunch just for your group with plenty of tasty options. And when the sun sets, come back to The Lost Paddle Bar and Grill for dinner and dive into more classic American favorites.

Free Activities

There’s so much to enjoy at ACE for FREE! Start your adventure by stopping by the Welcome Center to pick up a map. You’ll discover numerous trails that cover miles of terrain around ACE, including the Concho Overlook Trail, which offers stunning views of the historic town of Thurmond in the New River Gorge.

If you prefer exploring on two wheels, we have private biking trails suitable for beginners, intermediate, and advanced cyclists. You can bring your own gear or rent a mountain bike from us.

Don’t forget to bring your fishing equipment to enjoy some time at our private resort fishing ponds. If birdwatching is more your style, we are an excellent location for spotting a variety of bird species. Additionally, our unique Disc Golf course spans over 6,000 feet, featuring a mix of challenging and open flight paths.
