Nightmare in the Gorge-Inside the Curse

We absolutely love Halloween and we are super excited for the 6th edition of Nightmare in the Gorge at ACE Adventure Resort. We are thrilled to announce a new theme for our haunted attraction centered on an ancient curse cast over the great mountains and wilderness that is West Virginia today. This ancient curse means new sets and new characters are coming at you in our latest nightmarish creation. We have also been working hard on ways to keep everyone healthy due to COVID-19 concerns. This year the haunt will look a bit different but we can promise it will be scarier than ever!

Seance in the woods for nightmare in the gorge

An Ancient Curse

For 2020 we came up with an entirely new theme featuring an ancient curse that has been cast over West Virginia. Over the centuries mysterious and terrifying occurrences have been documented across the Mountain State. Sinister spirits summon evil demons, psychotic killers torture their helpless victims, unexplained figures are lurking in the shadows and cryptid monsters roam the forests, rivers, and trails here.

Experience the curse and those monsters affected by its overpowering control. You can look forward to seeing new sets including a crypt, a rotting pumpkin room, and an underwater scene just to name a few. With our new sets come new monsters for this season like a Zombie Mermaid, Witch of the Woods, Mothman, and of course the Plague Doctor. Face the curse this October. Will you escape by twisting and turning your way through the 6,000 square foot haunted maze? Or will you become a permanent fixture in this shocking nightmare?

COVID-19 Precautions

2020 has been a year full of ups, downs, and uncertainty due to the Corona Virus. Here at ACE Adventure Resort, we have been safely welcoming guests since Memorial Day weekend. The haunted house industry has been anxiously planning for our season and hoping we will be able to open our attractions. Based on what other attractions are doing and what we have been successful with all summer we are confident we can hold a safe event this fall. However, your haunted house experience may look a bit different for 2020.

One of the biggest changes will be in how you purchase your tickets. This year we are introducing timed ticketing and we are strongly encouraging everyone to purchase advance tickets online. Timed ticketing will cut out the need to stand in a line with a large group of people. You book a time slot, show up at that time with your group and you will be able to go directly into the attraction. There will also be a limited capacity each night, so don’t wait until the last minute to get your tickets.

We will also be taking numerous precautions that we have all become accustomed to this summer. The first thing we would like to ask all our guests to do is please wear a mask or face covering while visiting the attraction. Our monsters will also be wearing masks to keep their bloody drool to themselves. Temperature checks will be required of each participant before entering the attraction. Social distancing will also be encouraged at all times while visiting the resort and we will not be mixing groups this year meaning the group you arrive with will be your group through the attraction. By following these guidelines and taking these simple measures we aim to host a safe, fun and terrifying haunt experience.

Get Your Tickets Today

Grab your friends and get ready to experience the curse for yourself this October at ACE Adventure Resort. Purchase your tickets online to lock in your time slot. There is a limited capacity this year so don’t wait until the last minute to purchase tickets. Opening night is October 9th then we will be open every Friday and Saturday from 7-11 PM through Halloween. Come early and grab dinner and drinks at The Lost Paddle before our monsters dine on you! What are you waiting for? Check out an awesome West Virginia haunted attraction!
