There’s a reason why there are so many great songs written about the Mountain State. If you’re lucky enough to be experiencing West Virginia for the first time, we absolutely encourage taking your time meandering through the beautiful scenery and visiting some of the towns along the way. A nice and steady drive is also a good idea because West Virginia has a ton of windy roads through the mountains, and we don’t want any accidents on the way to our amazing weekend. As with anywhere else, WV also has plenty of attentive policemen who would love nothing more than to welcome you to our lovely state with a speeding ticket. We don’t want that either.

Like we mentioned, West Virginia is a beautiful state with plenty of windy roads and tiny towns to explore. However when it comes to GPS Navigation, this means that what Google may consider to be the shortest route, might not actually the most efficient route. Also, when traveling through the community of Minden, please be extra attentive. Minden is a small mining community, houses are close to the road, and you may see pets and children on the trip. Please, for the love of god, don’t hit them.

DIRECTIONS BY RV

If you are a veteran RV driver, then you probably know the deal by now; some roads are a little easier on your load than others. For our friends in RVs, we have a slightly safer route to suggest.

For most of the trip, RVs shouldn’t have much of an issue. Feel free to follow the same directions as for cars until your reach US Rt. 19 to Oak Hill.

  1. Take the East Main St. Exit
  2. Take State Rt. 16 North. If you are traveling Northbound on Rt. 19, this will be a right turn. If you’re traveling south, this will be a left turn.
  3. Turn right just before the Little General-BP Station onto Old Minden Rd.This road is very narrow, so please drive carefully.
  4. Follow Old Minden Rd. for 1.1 miles until you see a stop sign.
  5. Continue through the small community of Minden, staying on Minden Rd. You will see signs for ACE.
  6. Turn right at the tall ACE Pole sign. Do NOT go straight onto Rocklich Rd.
  7. Turn left at the ACE entrance and stop at the Welcome Center.

DIRECTIONS BY AIRPLANE

ACE Adventure Resort is a 1,500-acre property that boasts some of the best outdoor activities in the country. I say this because it’s no easy task to get that much land, and that much wilderness, near a major airport. For all of our friends flying in to visit, Yeager Airport in Charleston WV is the closest option at around one hour-away. Because it is an hour away, we recommend renting a good car or RV for the remaining trip.

DIRECTIONS BY BUS

Skedaddle is the easiest way to get to Mountain Music Festival. With Skedaddle, you can start or join professionally driven bus routes directly from your neighborhood to the festival. Download the Skedaddle app for iOS or Android.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Download the Skedaddle app for iOS or Android and create an account.
  2. Explore existing routes to see if there’s one from your neighborhood, or create your own.
  3. If at least 9 other people sign up for the same route, Skedaddle will send a van or bus! (In the event the route doesn’t reach 10 total riders, you’ll be notified 48 hours ahead of time).
  4. Show up to the pick up location and ride!
